Named after the only Opera that Beethoven wrote, the fruit for this comes from the Farella Vineyard in Coombsville. Light gold in color, clear and bright. The nose has some noticeable oak along with a "ton" of tropical fruit and pineapple. Medium to full bodied. Slightly oily texture. On the palate, notes of guava, pineapple, papaya and spice. Long finish. This is delicious and has some depth and complexity. It is wonderful on its own and will work with many foods. It would be a nice match with Mandarin Orange Chicken. Drink over the next three to five years.
Great showing at age 19! Purple in color with ruby hues, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, chocolate, dust and spice. Full bodied. Medium to firm tannins. Great acidity. On the palate, this seems to be at peak and drinking great. Flavors of cassis, chocolate and slight spice. Long finish. Drink over the next ten to fifteen years. Great on its own, this will work with many foods. A great choice with a Lamb Stew.
