This is a blend of Cabernet Franc 63%, Merlot 32% and Cabernet Sauvignon 5% from Aaron and Claire Pott and Daughters. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is really interesting with black cherries, tobacco, cassis, cigar box, coffee beans and spice. Deep. Firm tannins. Full bodied. Nice balance. On the palate, this is deep and complex. Still very young but with about an hour air, it was drinking great. Flavors of black cherries, cassis, cherries, dark chocolate and spice. The tight layers unwind in the glass. Long finish. Ideally, this should get another five years in a good cellar but if opening now, it drinks great with air. Very nice on its own and works well with most foods. It went quite well with Eggplant Parmesan. Drink over the next ten to fifteen years.
