Champagne

The 164 uses 2008 as a base.  This is pehnominal albeit very young at the moment.  Light golden in color.  A beautiful mousse with a lot of tiny bubbles.  The nose is great with slight toasted note with pears and slight lemon.  Also an underlying minerality.  With air a slight nutty note emerges.  On the palate, this is deep and complex yet precise.  It unwinds nicely in the glass.  Lemony with slight orange notes.  Minerals.  Great acidity.  Very pesistent and lemony finish.  Amazing length.  Great with food.  This has penty of upside but is great right now.  Excellent.  

100% Pinot Noir (Blanc de Noirs) Champagne that got no dosage.  It might be a bit austere for some, but I really enjoyed it.  Light gold in color.  The nose is all about minerality though there is some tart cherry notes.  On the palate, this is lean and intense.  Minerals with a slight tart cranberry note.  Good depth.  Nice finish.  Would work well with foods.  

I got a chance to try this (December, 2017) and was told that storage was less than ideal.  Considering that and its age, this was pretty impressive.  Light golden in color.  Still some evervescence although not really showing bubbles in the glass.  On the nose, a bit soapy but nice lemon-lime notes and minerals.  Not much in the way of oxidation, considering and no mushrooms.  On the palate, this is crisp with a lemony note.  Some depth and complexity.  There is certainly some energy.  Way better than one might have guessed.  Very cool.  

Excellent.  Light golden in color.  There is a lot of tiny bubbles in the mousse.  On the nose; selztzer, minerals and slight ginger.  This is deep with a lot going on.  Great acidity.  Lemon/lime on the palate.  Long finish that turns a bit earthy in a good way.  This is fantastic if very young right now.  

Deep sort of pink/orange in color.  Interesting.  On the palate, cranberries and some strawberries.  Nice mousse.  On the palate, this is more than just pleasant but not mind blowing.  Of course, neither is the price.  Some depth.  Nice cherries, minerals and slight chalkiness to it.  Good finish.  I wouldn't mind more cut to it, but there is enough.  It was a nice way to start an evening.  A Lyle Fass wine.  If you don't know this direct importer - Google him and sign up for his e-mails.  Great wine at reasonable prices.  

Quite nice.  Light golden in color.  Nice mousse with a lot of tiny bubbles.  On the nose this is a bit nutty with green apples.  Crisp acidity on the palate.  The apples carry thru along with a refreshing minerality.  Long finish.  Rerally a very nice Champagne for the money.  

Nice Champagne at a reasonable price.  Light golf in color.  The nose has biscuits and a slight lemon note.  A nice mousse with fairly small bubbles.  On the palate, this has a nice acidity.  Slightly yeasty, slightly biscuit.  More mineral than fruit.  Good finish.  Very nice.  

Pale but vibrant ruby in color.  The nose has some slight cherries and a bit of rhubarb.  A nice foam with a lot of little bubbles.  On the palate, this is good but lacks depth especially considering the price.  Nevertheless, an excellent wine.  The cherries with a slight bitter cherry flavors carry over to the palate.  Clean with a nice finish.  And of course, a gorgeous bottle.
