Vintage:

Score:

Grade:

This is a very nice wine, but for me (your mileage may vary), this is not what I am looking for in Beaujolais.  Garnet in color, mostly clear and bright.  The nose has cherries, baking spices, slight coffee notes and a bit of citrus.  Full bodied.  Medium tannins.  On the palate, bold cherry fruit with spice and slight dark chocolate.  Long finish.  This drinks well on its own, but would be better served with a steak.  Drink over the next seven to ten years.

Another in the old school style of Cru Beaujolais.  Garnet in color, clear and bright.  The nose has cherries, some black cherries and what a friend noted as "Autumn spices" i.e. cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.  Medium bodied.  Light tannins.  Good balance.  On the palate, black cherry fruit with a touch of anise.  An almost menthol note on the finish.  This drinks well on its own but even better with food.  Poached salmon would work well.  Drink over the next ten years or so.

This wine is named for the three vineyards that the fruit comes from:  Rochegrès, Roche Noire and La Rochelle.  The winery is also known as Domaine Vissoux.  Ruby in color with slight purple hues.  The nose is lighter but nice with cherries, and a slight celery seed note.  Interesting.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, nice cherry fruit with the celery seed coming thru.  Good acidity.  Long finish.  In an era when many Cru Beaujolais are getting riper, this is more classic in style.  The acidity really kicks off the finish.  This will drink better with food.  It would be a great match with a

Great showing for this wine (also see the note on their sparkling Gamay wine found at https://www.intowine.com/reviews/nv-domaine-de-la-voute-des-crozes-effer... Garnet in color with purple swirls, mostly clear and bright.  The nose is deep with black cherries, cherries, and nutmeg.  Full bodied.  Firm tannins.  Lovely texture.  On the palate, there is plenty of black cherry fruit and some cherries with a touch of minerality.  Good bala

Another Beaujolais from a top Burgundy negociant.  Garnet in color with a purple core, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose is nice with cherries, cherry blossoms, strawberries and slight anise.  Lovely texture.  Light tannins.  Lower acidity.  Cherries with some anise especially on the finish.  Drinking well now on its own and should work well with food.  Mushroom pasta in a cream sauce would work well.  Drink over the next seven to ten years.

Nice showing for this wine.  This is made with semi-carbonic maceration (according to the importer).  Garnet in color with some purple swirls.  The nose has cherries and strawberries along with some floral notes.  Very pretty.  Lovely texture.  Firm tannins.  Nicely balanced.  On the palate, cherries with some dark cherries.  This is nice on its own and very food friendly.  It would go well with (vegetarian) chili.  Drink over the next eight to ten years.

Garnet in color, mostly clear and bright.  The nose is nice with candied cherries, slight floral note and a hint of char.  Light tannins.  Velvety texture.  On the palate, cherries, some cherry candy with a bit of minerality.  Fennel on the finish.  This drinks easily on its own and should work with most dishes other than sea food.  A nice pasta wine.  Drink over the next ten years.

A very unusual sparkling wine imported by Kermit Lynch.  These wines are made by Nicole Chanrion whose family holdings are in Cote-de-Brouilly.  The wine is made from Gamay Noir grapes grown on 50 year old vines and made in the Method Tradionnelle.  It is a vintage wine although the label does indicate vintage.  The color is light golden with a bit of copper color.  A nice mousse with smaller bubbles.  The nose has a light strawberry and red apple note along with a seltzer quality.  Medium bodied.  Some acidity.  On the palate, red apples, some minerality and a slightly bitter tone becoming

While not inexpensive, this is one of the better "affordable" Grand Cru wines in Chablis.  Green/gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is great with crushed shells and sea air.  With air, a bit of lime comes out.  Full bodied.  No tannins.  On the palate, limes, quince, slight salinity with a nice texture.  Good acidity.  Long finish.  This drinks great on its own but is better with food.  It would be great with oysters.  Drink over the next eight to ten years.

A blend of 195 wines from twelve vintages back to 1998, 51% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay, 11% Meunier, base vintage 2014, bottled spring 2021.  Another top notch effort by arguably the best producer in Champagne.  Light golden in color with a multitude of very tiny bubbles.  Lovely froth.  The nose is great with ginger, slight brioche, slight caramel and lemon.  Full bodied.  On the palate, this is delicious.  Some salinity with lemons and slight ginger ale.  Good balance.  Long finish.  This version does not seem to have quite the quality of the prior few which is unfortunate given how expen
