This is their basic Gewurztraminer (they have many higher end ones worth exploring).  Golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with lychees, slight minerality, and lemon peel.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, this is pretty much dry.  Notes of lemon and minerals.  Great texture.  Nice finish.  Drink over the next few years.  Very nice on its own, this will work nicely with Thai food.

Arguably the best Riesling in the world.  This dry Riesling comes from Alsace.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is great.  Clean.  Aromas of peach, slight apple, chalk, crushed stones and slight sea air.  Medium to full bodied.  A great backbone of acidity.  On the palate, this is delicious.  Dry.  Notes of peach, apple and chalk.  Slightly viscous texture.  Long finish.  Complex.  Drinking great now, this should have another twenty or thirty years of life left.  Very food versatile.  It will match with almost anything.  It would be awesome with Thai food.

From Magnum.  Very nice showing for this wine.  Deep golden in color, clear and bright.  This has slight petrol, orange peel, and apricot on the nose. Quite enticing.  Medium bodied.  Viscous.  Dry.  On the palate, this has a nice vibrancy.  Not really showing old although certainly mature.  Apricot, peaches and minerality with good acidity.  Long finish.  This is delicious on its own and worked very well with fried onion rings and tater tots.  In this format, this could probably go another ten to twenty years.  (Price listed is for a 750ml)

This is a sweet wine from Alsace France.  At just shy of 25 years old, this was beautiful.  Golden in color, a deep in color, clear and bright.  What an exquisite nose.  Is there a better nose on a wine than aged Gewurztraminer?  Lychees, honey, slight grilled grapefruit (think caramelized) and saline.  Full bodied.  Viscous.  Sweet but not cloying.  On the palate, lychees, and honey with underlying minerality.  Long finish.  Just delicious.  This is contemplative on its own but will work with more savory (or at least less sweet) fruit desserts.  Mature, but this could easily go another dec

Fun to try this at age 22.  Still drinking well.  The nose is more about minerality but a bit of peach and slight dried floral note.  Light bodied.  Slightly oily texture.  On the palate, this has some vibrancy if a bit past prime.  Peach and minerals.  Enough acidity.  Nice finish.  These should be consumed earlier than later at this point.  It drinks nicely on its own and worked at the end of a meal to wake up the palate.

This wine has always been a bit of a disappointment.  Its fine and its drinkable, but not as good as one hopes for from this winery.  Light golden in color. The nose has lychees with a bit of honey. On the palate, the sweetness has faded as has most of the fruit.  Some minerality.  Finishes bitter.  This bottle, anyway, was past prime although I don't know its provenance.  Still, drink up.

Another producer I have not had before (I need to get out more again).  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  None of the pinkish hues normally associated with Pinot Gris.  The nose is interesting with fresh kumquat (yes, you read that right) and a slight waxy/fleshy note.  On the palate, this is slightly viscous.  Notes of oranges with decent acidity.  It finishes with a touch of sweetness.  This is pleasant and easy to drink although it doesn't come off as a typical Pinot Gris.  Drink over the next few years.  It drinks great on its own and will work with lighter foods.  A nice wine f

A new winery for me.  Light golden in color with some silvery hues, clear and bright.  The nose is tight (cold) with air some minerality and light lemons come thru.  It has a viscous texture.  On the palate, there is some sweetness to it (no idea what the residual sugar level is) but it is easily balanced by the bracing acidity.  13% ABV.  Plenty of lemon fruit with slight apples.  The lemony finish goes on forever.  This is really interesting and it would be hard to guess where it is from as it is quite unique.  It is drinking great now and will no doubt mature and morph but should drink w

This was purchased on release during a visit to the winery.  It has improved a bit in the intervening four years.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose has a lot of lemons with underlying minerality.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, this is dry.  Great minerality with a bit of lemons.  It has some depth though still drinking youthfully.  Very concentrated.  Nice finish.  This went great with Thai food.  It will drink fine on its own but would work better with food.  Drink over the next ten to twelve years.

Alsace is a nice source for affordable dry Rieslings.  This one is light gold in color.  The nose has grapefruit, slight peach and minerality.  Medium bodied.  Dry on the palate.  More about minerals than fruit.  Easy to drink.  Nice finish.  This was under $20 and certainly worth the price.  Drink over the next five to seven years.  This will work well with Thai food.
