Red 2014 Simi Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley

Score:
87
Grade:
B+

This is not the greatest Napa Cab on the market.  It also costs around $20, so it doesn't have to be.  It certainly presents a nice value and is just fine for parties.  Purple in color.  The nose has dark cherries, cedar, baking spices and dust.  On the palate, this is a bit generic; dark cherries with slight earth.  Very tasty and goes well with party appetizers and main dishes.  A nice value.

2012 Marcassin Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard, California, Sonoma Coast - Wine Review

Score:
95
Grade:
A

Light golden in color.  i believe this is their most recent release of a Chardonnay.  The nose is very nice with grapefruits, a floral quality and slight peach.  There is also a vanilla component to this wine.  On the palate, there is some oak showing that will surely integrate quickly.  It is very tight at first but explodes in the glass with air.  Slightly oily texture which I love.  Great fruit; peaches, grapefruits and even a bit of honey.  Long, long finish.  This wines best days are ahead but if you are lucky enough to have multiple bottles, drinking one young should not be missed eit
