2019 St. Innocent Pinot Noir Momtazi Vineyard, USA, Oregon, McMinnville, Wine Review
Consumed over two days, this was better on day 2. Momtazi is an interesting vineyard with a bit different profile than most Oregon Pinot Noir vineyards. It seems to produce bigger wines with a few different qualities such as coffee, char and dry forest floor when young. Ruby/Purple in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose has black cherries, plums, coffee beans and char. On day 2, more red fruit cam out along with a bit of forest floor - dry leaves. Medium bodied. Light tannins. Good balance. 2016 Maysara Winery Pinot Blanc Arsheen, USA, Oregon, McMinville, Wine Review
Light golden in color. The nose is mild with pears and melons. On the palate, there is a slight diesel note but also some slight fruit. It has a round texture, but lacks much acidity or intensity. It is enjoyable, but leaves one wanting for a bit more. Some of that is the varietal but still. $19 retail. A very solid wine. Drink now this may have been better a year ago.
