Another winner from the great 2015 vintage.  Light silvery/gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose has great minerality with a slight peach note.  Slightly viscous.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, this is sweet though not cloying.  Great acidity to balance it off.  Loads of minerality with some peach notes.  This is more about minerals and "less is more".  Complex.  Long finish.  This will continue to improve for another decade.  It should drink well for thirty years.  Great with a wide variety of foods (factor in the sweetness) but Thai food is a great choice.

This is young and took some time to open, but then was excellent.  Light golden with slight green hues, clear and bright.  The nose is deep with flint, slight peach, wet rocks, and quince.  It takes a while to really open.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, this is sweet.  Not dessert like, but certainly sweet.  Good acidity.  Peach, slight apple with great minerality.  Depth.  Long finish.  This will reward future cellaring, maybe another five to eight years.  If drinking now, open and let breathe for four to six hours.  Great on its own, this will work well with cheeses including Mac n Chees

This is the basic Riesling from one of the best producers of Riesling in the world.  Light green/gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with pineapples, apples and wet rocks.  Medium bodied with some viscosity.  Slightly sweet.  On thee palate, flavors of pineapple with great minerality.  Long finish.  This is drinking well now and should easily do another seven to ten years.  It drinks great on its own and would work well with a lighter salad.

I love Donnhoff wines and they did quite well in 2010.  This one seems to be just about at peak.  Medium golden in color.  The nose is lovely with wet rock/minerality and a bit of peaches and slight pineapple.  Medium bodied.  Slightly viscous.  Great acidity.  On the palate, this is slightly sweet but not overblown for a Kabinett.  Pineapple, peach and some lemon with a nice minerals base.  Long finish.  This is delicious on its own but will work with seafood or fruit salads.  It should continue to drink well for another ten to fifteen years.

Brilliant showing for this wine.  Showing a hint of age at 16 years from vintage.  Golden in color.  The nose is clean with Crème brûlée, minerality and slight red fruits.  Medium to full bodied.  Viscous.  On the palate, this is sweet and rich but enough acidity to cut through it.  The Crème brûlée comes thru to the palate but very concentrated.  Long finish.  Delicious.  This is great on its own or with some cheeses.  Should have no problem going another fifteen to twenty years.

This is labelled Blue Slate but there is also one available labelled as "Blauschiefer" which means Blue Slate.  Is this an export label?  Perhaps.  Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright.  The nose is tight but opens to chow cherries and baking spices.  On the palate, this has black cherry fruit with a hint of root beer.  Almost like a very, very elegant old style Sonoma Coast.  A nice depth and complexity despite its youth.  Moderate tannins.  Good finish.  This took a while to open and if serving now, give it a good decant.  This probably needs another five to seven years, to get close to

What a great showing for this wine.  A new producer for me.  Blind, I guessed Chablis due to the intense granny smith apple notes.  Golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is full of Granny Smith (green) apples along with a crushed stone/chalky quality.  On the palate, this has a great rich texture but cuts with excellent acidity.  The tart green apples and crushed stones carry thru to the palate.  Long finish.  2015 was a great year and this still has some more development to come although it is drinking well now.  Maybe another three to five years until full maturity and should drink

Very nice showing for this admittedly young, dry Riesling from one of my favorite producers.  Very light silvery/golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is intriguing with peaches, salinity, slight ginger and melon along with a nice mineral component.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, this is delicious and open.  Crisp peaches and grapefruit with a lot of minerality.  Very long finish.  This improved with air and if drinking soon, a decant would help.  It should drink well for the next ten years.  As for food, this will go with just about anything.  Thai food is obvious, but even spicy m

Donnhoff is one of the top producers of Riesling's in the world.  This is a dry version from the excellent 2015 vintage.  While still young, this wine was fantastic.  Light golden in color with some green hues.  The nose is pretty with peaches, salinity, and lots of minerals.  On the palate, this is full bodied.  It has a nice sturdy crispness but abundant fruit as well.  Peaches with underlying minerality.  Very long and rich finish.  Delicious.  This should drink well for another ten to twelve years.  It will go with a wide variety of foods - practically anything.

Great showing for this wine.  Still youthful but drinking nicely.  Medium golden in color.  The nose is clean (no diesel) with minerality/wet rocks and some pineapple.  On the palate, this is more about minerals but there is a bitters quality as well.  And the pineapple comes through too.  This is sweet but not overtly.  Well balanced by the acidity.  Long finish.  This will go with a lot of foods and also drink well on its own.  It went great with a spinach salad.  It should continue to mature for the next five to ten years and be good for ten to fifteen more.
