Golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose has some diesel and schist along with a bit of lemon/lime.  Full bodied.  On the palate, tart lemons with an underlying minerality.  It does seem like there is a slight residual sugar. Good acidity.  This is a serious Riesling that should drink well for another ten to fifteen years (at least).  This drinks well on its own but will work better with just about any food.  It should be a nice match for Thai or Indian.

A Sauvignon Blanc from Austria, this was produced using sustainable farming methods.  12.5% ABV.  Silvery gold in color with a slight copper hue.  Clear and bright.  The nose is initially mineral driven but with a bit of air, some green pepper notes emerge.  With a bit more air, some lemons come out.  Finally, after almost two hours of air, there are some grassy notes along with some tropical fruit (papaya).  Fascinating to observe the evolution of the nose.

I am not sure what grape varieties go into the cuvee.  At age 20, it is great.  Copper in color, clear and bright.  The nose is gorgeous.  100 points for the nose.  Peaches, canned peaches, slight salted caramel, and minerality.  Full bodied and viscous.  Not as good on the palate, but still outstanding.  The peaches and canned peaches carry thru.  Remnants of sweetness remain but very little sweetness shows.  Nice acidity.  Long finish.  Just beautiful.  This drinks well on its own and will work with a not too sweet dessert.  Maybe a Pecan Roll would be good.  It is starting to slide downh

This is drinking well for a mature, dry Riesling.  Golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose takes a moment then opens to show pineapple and minerals.  On the palate, the pineapple carries thru along with a vegetarian tzimmes (a jewish dish that involves slow cooking root vegetables and fruits).  This has a nice tartness that gives it plenty of energy.  The finish is long but does have a slightly bitter note.  All in all, this is enjoyable and while it improved over a couple of hours with air, I think it is getting ready to start a slow decline.  Still, it should have at least five to se

Südsteiermark is a region in southeastern Austria that produces excellent, fruity Sauvignon Blancs which is exactly what this wine is.  This is one of this producers entry level bottlings.  Yellow/gold/green in color.  The nose is pretty with pears, slight gooseberries, limes and minerals.  On the palate, the limes and gooseberries stand out although there is some underlying minerality.  Fresh with lots of energy.  Long finish.  This should be consumed in the next year or two.  It drinks well on its own and will work well with lighter fowl or seafood dishes.

This is made from the Blaufrankish grape.  Really an excellent wine.  This is deep ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose is great with sour cherries, plums, dust, baking spices, anise and a slight meaty note.  Complex and big.  Full bodied.  On the palate, this is delicious.  Lots of upfront plums turning to sour cherries.  Underneath is a meaty/earthy quality with some black pepper.  Like a mythical cross of Cote Rotie and Oregon Pinot Noir.  This is complex and lively.  It seems like it is near peak but then again it drinks youthfully.  Without much experience with this grape

Consumed over two nights.  Consistent.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose has diesel fuel, lemons and salinity.  On the palate, this is dry.  Slightly viscous texture.  Grapefruit with underlying minerality.  Slightly bitter grapefruit pith on the finish.  This is youthful but approaching maturity.  It probably should be consumed in the next seven to ten years.  This will work with almost any food, but sea food or poultry would be best.  It will work better with food than on its own.

A very respectable showing for a 20 year old Austrian Riesling.  This was about $25 on release and over the years, I have consumed a bunch - all good as it matured.  It now has a deep golden color, clear and bright.  The nose has slight petrol, a bit of burnt honey and nice minerality.  On the palate, slight pineapple and apricots.  This is dry.  Good finish.  This is drinking nicely.  Mature, but no hurry.  It should easily go another decade though it won't improve.  It will work well with cheeses or even Thai food.

This is resally drinking nicely right now.  Maybe give it just a bit of air.  Light golden in color.  The nose has peas, slight white pepper and pears.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, this has good, not intense acidity.  Nice mouthfeel.  The pears continue thru and give it some edge.  Very persistent finish.  Drinking well, it won't get better but should last for another five years.  A nice match with lighter summer foods or on its own.
