A lovely Gruner that is typically their lightest in the portfolio. Pale gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with green apples, slight lemons and minerality. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is crisp and clean with a lime sweet-tart to it with some white pepper. Nice finish. Drink over the next five to ten years. This will work well with lighter dishes including fish and chicken.
Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has some limes, plenty of minerality and a bit of a sweaty sock note. With air, a sweet-tart quality comes out. On the palate, this is soft but tasty. Limes with underlying minerality. A bit of white pepper. Shorter finish. Drink over the next year or two. This will work nicely with baked trout.
Medium gold in color. The nose has vanilla, lemon/lime and slight floral notes. Really pretty. On the palate, this has a lovely smooth texture. The vanilla comes thru along with the lemon/lime and undertones of minerality. Deep complexity. Slightly oily texture which is nice. Turns tart green apple on the finish. This seems like it has the stuffing to age well for the next ten to fifteen years. Delicious now though. Would work with a very wide variety of foods, even heavier meat dishes.
This is very young but really showing some stuffing. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with limes, white pepper, and slight grapefruit. Medium to full bodied. Nice, slightly oily texture. On the palate, this is dry. Notes of lemons, limes and some black pepper. Good acidity. Long finish. This could use five years in the cellar, but it is drinking well now. Drink over the next five to ten years. Nice on its own, this would be nice with Veal Chops.
Tasted at the winery as part of a vertical of 18, 19 & 20. Much bigger, riper and more depth than the 2020 (at least at this stage). Hay/Gold in color, clear and bright. Wow, what a gorgeous nose. Classic. Floral (white flowers?), slight asparagus, and white pepper and a hint of spice. Medium bodied. Slightly oily texture. On the palate, lemon zest and lemon candy. Good acidity. This is sourced from various terraced vineyards and younger vines. Screw capped. Green/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is expressive. Tangerine peel, peaches with a slight minerality. Medium bodied. Lively acidity. On the palate, green apples, lemons, and minerals. Lots of energy. This is fresh and easy to drink but has some depth, too. It is refreshing on its own but will work with goat chees and roasted beet salad. Drink over the next four to six years.
