2024 Prisma Sauvignon Blanc, Chile, Casablanca Valley, Wine Review
If tasting completely blind I would have guessed New Zealand SB and not Chile. Green/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is crisp with tropical fruits (Gooseberries) with a touch of lime citrus. Medium bodied. Crisp acidity. Nice oily texture. A bit chalky on the finish. This is an easy drinking Sauvignon Blanc that is nice on its own and would go well with lighter foods or soft cheeses. Drink over the next year or so.
2015 Château Suduiraut, France, Bordeaux, Sauternes, Wine Review
One of the top producers in Sauternes and still an excellent value. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has apples and honey. Medium to full bodied. On the palate, apples, honey and slight vanilla. Long finish. This is drinking well now but should go another twenty years. It will work well with a less sweet dessert (cookies or cake).
2011 Château Rieussec, France, Bordeaux, Sauternes, Wine Review
Rieussec is one of the great values in the wine world. Perhaps the second best Sauternes (after Yquem), and it is consistently available for an affordable price. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is great with apricots, honey, slight vanilla and slight pineapple. Full bodied. Viscous. Great acidity. On the palate, this is delicious. Flavors of apricots, pineapple and honey. Long finish. This is lovely on its own and will work well with a not too sweet cake for dessert. Drink over the next fifteen to twenty years.
2001 Château d'Yquem, France, Bordeaux, Wine Review
1998 Château de Fargues, France, Bordeaux, Sauternes, Wine Review
Very nice showing at age 27. Medium golden in color with some ruby notes, clear and bright. The nose is very nice with apricots, slight honey and just a hint of oxidation. Medium to full bodied. Viscous texture. The palate has apricots and honey but a bit clipped and slightly bitter on the finish. Probaby a bit past peak but still has years left of pleasure. Would be nice with a Polenta Cake for dessert.
2019 Château Guiraud. France, Bordeaux, Sauternes, Wine Review
Very nice showing for this wine. It is easily available and very fairly priced. Light golden in color, clear and bright. Very pretty nose of orange peel, honey and apricots. Also a light, breezy floral note. Medium bodied but viscous. Nicely balanced with acidity that cuts thru well. On the palate, flavors of honey and apricots with a slight bitter (like pith) note on the finish that works well. This is delicious on its own and would be nice with a less sweet cookie or cake at the end of an meal. Drink over the next twenty to thirty years.

2019 Domaine François Cotat Sancerre Les Monts Damnés, France, Loire, Wine Review
2024 Jean Reverdy et Fils Sancerre La Reine Blanche, France, Loire, Wine Review
Silvery/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is tight but opens to show lemons, a slight herbal note and good minerality. Medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, this is slightly sweet (barely) with nicce lemony notes. A slight yellow grapefruit comes out with air. It drinks easy on its own and will work with lighter foods. This would be a nice wine with Tuna Salad. Drink over the next couple of years.
