Made from 30+ year old vines near the city  of Chavignol.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with lemons and slight wild thyme.  Clean.  Medium bodied.  Nice oily texture.  On the palate, this is very slightly sweet with lemons.  Nice acidity.  Good finish.  This drinks great on its own and will work with many foods.  Goat cheeses would work well say, for example a Beet and Goat Cheese Salad.  Drink over the next five years.

This is Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley.  Silvery gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with slight lemons and a floral (white flowers?) note.  Medium bodied.  Good acidity.  Slightly creamy texture.  On the palate, crisp lemon citrus flavors.  Plenty of depth and minerality.  Nice finish.  In style, this is lower on fruit with more on complexity and depth.  It should age well and possibly improve.  A serious wine.  It is nice on its own but should be better with food.  Crab cakes would be a good pairing.

This is Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley in France.  Silvery gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is tight at first but opens to show lemon and slight crushed shells.  Medium bodied.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this seems to have a bit of residual sugar.  Just a hint of sweetness.  Also, flavors of lemon citrus.  Good finish.  This is nice on its own but probably a bit better with food.  Ceviche would be a nice pairing.

In a recent tasting of Loire Sauvignon Blancs, this was the groups favorite. Pale gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with lemons and a slight flinty note.  Medium bodied.  Good acidity.  On the palate, flavors of Lemon candy with slight lemon citrus.  Good finish.  This is nice on its own and will work well with many foods.  It would be nice with grilled Tuna.  Drink over the next two to four years.

This is made by a private wine club in northeast Ohio using purchased grapes.  Pale yellow gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with grapefruit, a  touch of grass, and slight gooseberry.  Light to medium bodied.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this is refreshing.  A touch grassy and a bit of gooseberry comes thru.  Moderate finish.  This is nice on its own and will work well with lighter foods.  A nice choice for Chicken or Tuna Salad.  Drink over the next few years.

I am a big fan of Tench wines, but this is the first Sauvignon Blanc of theirs that I can recall tasting.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is a bit quiet but has  some tropical fruits along with a slight pear note.  Medium bodied.  Good balance.  On the palate, this is a bit more expressive.  Flavors of Guava and pair with just the slightest grassiness.  Good acidity.  Long finish.  This is drinking well now and  should continue for another three to five years.  It is nice on its own and will work well with lighter foods. A nice pairing would be stuffed peppers.

This is Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley in France.  Straw gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with a touch of lemons along with plenty of minerality.  Medium bodied.  Excellent balance and acidity.  On the palate, the minerality dominates but there is some lemon as well.  Clean, long finish.  This is nice on its own but probably better with food.  It would work well with fresh, Oysters.  Drink over the next few years.

This bottle was oxidized.  Deep golden in color.  A fair amount of oak showing but no fruit.  A shame as there is often great value in the under $30 world of Bordeaux.  It is a blend of 80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc.  The cork looked fine but something went wrong somewhere.  The current vintage is 2023, but even at age six years from vintage, it seems it should still be drinking well.  Oh well.

Made with grapes mostly grown in Tourraine but labelled Vin de France.  Light silvery/green in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice.  Slightly grassy with touch of tropical fruit and minerality.  Medium bodied.  Good balance.  On the palate, the tropical fruit comes thru along with a bit of almond especially on the finish.  This drinks easily on its own and would work well with lighter foods.  It would work well with vegetarian Thai Food.
