Wow, another shot a history.  This is a blend of 85% Sémillon, 12% Sauvignon Blanc, and 3% Muscadelle.  It is brown in color, sort of a deep iced tea color and maybe a touch lighter on the outer edge of the glass.  The nose is very nice with honey, slight ginger, orange peel, dusty attic, and a slight burnt caramel note.  Medium bodied.  Viscous texture.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this is sweet and close to cloying.  There must have been a lot of sugar in the grapes to show as sweet as this at age 101.  The acidity helps it though.  Flavors of honey, orange peel and slight caramel.  It is most definitely alive and drinking like a proper, if very old, Barsac.  Long finish.  Truly a great experience to tasted a wine with this kind of history.  Kind of  cool to think that as these grapes were growing, France was getting ready to host the Summer Olympics in Paris.
