What a privilege to taste a wine that is 68 years from vintage and is not only alive, but really firing on all cylinders. A blend of 83% Semillon, 15% Sauvignon Blanc, and 2% Muscadelle.  It is sort of red/orange/iced tea in color, clear and bright.  The nose is great.  slightly woody with honey, red apples and slight apricots.  Medium bodied.  Slightly viscous.  On the palate, this has a perception of sweetness but really almost dry.  Notes of honey, peach and slight orange citrus.  Good acidity.  Moderate finish.  It is likely past peak but still very rewarding.  Blind, it seems closer to twenty years.  No idea how long this lasts but another decade at least.  Nice on its own, this will work with a more savory cake dessert or of course, Foie Gras.
