2021 Bruno Giacosa Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore, Italy, Piedmont, Wine Review
Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose takes some time to open. Then, it shows dusty cherries, slight floral notes and tar. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Good acidity. On the palate, this is drinking well. More cherry fruit than expected but also some minerality and char. Long finish. This is delicious and better than many Barolo's. It is better with food but nice on its own. It will certainly gain complexity with good cellaring. Drink over the next ten years. A nice food pairing would be Pasta with Mushrooms or Truffles in a buter sauce.

2004 Giovanni Corino Barolo Vigna Giachini, Italy, Piedmont, Wine Review
This is mature and pretty much at peak right now. Garnet in color with the slightest browning at the rim. Mostly clear and bright. The nose is nice with cherries, slight dried cherries, slight asphalt and dust. WIth air a bit of dried roses come out. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, this has some depth and complexity. Good acidity. Flavors of cherries, dried cherries and a bit of dried forest floor. Long finish. This is drinking well but really needs food. It went well with a Truffle Pasta dish. Drink over the next few years.

2020 Tenuta Cucco Barolo Serralunga d'Alba, Italy, Piedmont, Wine Review
This is 100% Nebbiolo from the commune of Serralunga d'Alba of Barolo. Bright ruby/burgundy in color with a bit or orange on the rim, mostly clear and bright. The nose is very nice with cherries, tea, slight tar and wild thyme. Medium bodied. Great energy and balance. Firm tannins. On the palate, this has some depth. Flavors of cherries, black cherries, slight tea and char. Long finish. This drinks well on its own but better with food. It would work very well with pasta in a cream and mushroom sauce. Drink over the next ten to twelve years.
2023 Tenuta Cucco Langhe Nebbiolo, Italy, Piedmont, Wine Review
This is 100% Nebbiolo from Piemonte in Italy. Organic. Pale ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with sour cherries, slight strawberries, and a hint of rose petals. With air, some chalky dustiness comes out. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. A nice backbone of acidity. On the palate, flavors of sour cherries and black cherries with a touch of spice. Moderate finish. This wine really needs food. Pizza would work but it can handle pasta with a (spicy) meat sauce. Drink over the next three to five years.
