What a gorgeous wine.  Blind, I would probably guess a very good Burgundy at about 10 years old.  Deep ruby in color.  The nose is very nice with some funk on it.  Loads of cherries with some darkness to them.  Spice.  On the palate, the texture is really a highlight.  Silky yet burly.  Loads of black cherries on the palate.  It unwinds in the glass to show layers of damp earth with fruit.  Long finish.  This will easily do another decade and probably more but I am not sure if gets better.  And it is so good right now.  It will go with any food Pinot Noir works with.

2009 was such a great vintage in Beaujolais.  This bottle was purchased on release and stored well since.  It is drinking great.  Over two nights, it was actually a bit more interesting on night 2.  Deep ruby/purple in color, ruby at the rim.  The nose has cherries, sour cherries, slight spice and slight damp forest floor.  On the palate, the sour cherries come out.  Great texture.  Depth with some complexity.  Blind, one might be tempted to guess Oregon Pinot Noir.  Long tart finish.  This is very food friendly for all but the hearties of dishes.  While it certainly won't get better from h

Deep ruby/purple in color.  Bright.  The nose is dusty and slightly horsey with red berries.  On the palate, plums and cherries.  Still a lot of tannins.  This wine could pass for Clos de la Roilette, one of the better Beaujolais producers.  Whether it improves in the cellar is a question, but it is drinking quite well right now.  Would work with a lot of foods including heartier fare as well.  $17.

Wow, is this good.  $30 retail and a great value at that price.  Ruby in color with some purple swirls.  The nose has sour cherries, cherries, anise, slight spice.  On the palate, this has a wonderful texture.  Medium bodied but lush.  Great acidity.  Juicy black cherry fruit.  Deep and some complexity.  Light tannins.  Great with food.  It is delicious.
