Made from Organic grapes. This is 85% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Syrah, and 5% Merlot.  Inky purple in color, ruby at the rim, opaque and bright.  The nose has black cherries, plums, baking spices and slight char.  Tannic.  Tart acidity.  On the palate, plums and black raspberries with some spice.  This needs a couple of years to integrate and then should drink well for eight to ten.  If opening now, give it a few hours of air.  This drinks well on its own but will go well with grilled meats.

This is an organically grown, relatively inexpensive Malbec from Argentina.  Purple/ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has cherries and baking spices.  With air, some black cherries.  On the palate, nice black cherry fruit, some plums and a bit of char.  Medium tannins.  Good acidity.  This is a dry wine with just a perception of ripeness/sweetness. Good finish.  This will be a popular wine to serve at cookouts with burgers off the grill.  Drink over the next three to five years.

This is a blend of 35% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc.  It is certified organic.  Purple in color with ruby swirls.  Mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has black cherries and slight char.  On the palate, medium to full bodied.  Raspberries and black raspberries.  Firm tannins.  Long finish.  This drinks easy with no bite.  Clean.  This drinks well now and should drink well for the next five to eight years.  Tasty on its own, this will work well with beef or pork dishes.   Really a tremendous value in organic wines.

Bonterra has been a winery that has been reviewed here many time.  They provide quality wines at a fair price from grapes that are organically farmed.  This is a blend of mostly Grenache with some Malbec and Viognier.  The juice comes from the remains of grapes used from their Rose, and then hard pressed.  It is fermented mostly in barrel although some sees stainless, and then aged in neutral French oak for five months.  It is not meant to take too seriously.  Garnet in color, clear and bright.  The nose has cherries, fig newtons, and clementine oranges.  Medium bodied.  13.3% ABV.  On the

This is an inexpensive Malbec from Argentina that shows why they can be great value plays.  Purple in color with ruby at the rim.  The nose has dusty black cherries, slight black cherries and black pepper.  On the palate, this is medium to full bodied.  Firm, thick tannins.  The black cherries come out more on the palate.  This is straightforward and easy to drink.  It could probably use a year or so for the tannins to integrate more but if opening now, either decant ot let it breathe for a couple of hours.  This drinks well on its own but would work better with a bit of fat.  Either some b

This is another nice value play from Argentina.  It is an upfront, tasty wine that is affordable to most.  Purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is nice with plums, black cherries and dust.  Full bodied.  This is ripe but dry.  Lots of juicy black cherries and plums on the palate.  Light tannins.  Easy to drink.  This works great on its own and would work well with a burger off the grill.  Drink over the next few years.

This comes in a 3 liter box.  The beauty of the box is that the wine is deprived of oxygen enabling the consumer to drink it over a long period of time.  This box was sampled initially in June, repeatedly thru the summer, and again in October.  There was no noticeable degradation.  This is the type of wine made for the person who wants an occasional glass of wine (or a wine to be used in cooking too) that is still good.  I sampled the Cab and this one and preferred the Malbec.  It is from Argentina from a vineyard at 100 feet in altitude.  Purple in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nos

A really nice showing for this wine and above my high expectations.  It is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec, and 5% Petit Verdot.  Purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose has cassis, cedar, plums, graphite and char.  On the palate, this is full bodied with medium tannins.  Lots of cassis fruit intertwined with char and oak.  Good length on the finish.  This is still on the young side of mature but drinks like a classic Napa Cabernet.  That is great fruit with some oak and plenty of depth.  This should continue to mature for another seve to ten years and be good for ten to

This is a nice value in inexpensive Merlot.  It is a blend of 88% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Malbec.  Medium ruby in color.  The nose has plums, cherries and spice.  On the palate, this is light to medium bodied.  Light cherry fruit.  Easy drinking.  Nice finish.  This is made for immediate drinking.  It drinks well on its own and would be great with burgers or grilled chicken.  Drink over the next couple of years.

This is always one of the great wines out of Napa.  The blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Petit Verdot, and 3% Malbec. Inky purple in color.  The nose is very nice with cassis and coffee.  On the palate, this has medium tannins.  Black cherries, cassis and some char.  It is delicious.  This was consumed over three nights and was best on night three though excellent on all three.  This still needs a few more years until peak and then should be good for another ten to twelve at least.  The score certainly has a point or two more of upside.  There is a depth and complexity to it that really
