And now for something completely different... This is made from Malbec grapes in the style of Beaujolai Nouveau. That is the grapes undergo Carbonic Maceration (whole bunches go into tanks and the weight of the grapes breaks the skins and starts the fermentation process) instead of being crushed and fermented and then aged in barrels before release. It is 100% Malbec. Bright ruby in color with purple swirls. The nose has a grape bubblegum scent to it along with sour cherries. Medium to full bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, plums, cherries and a faint note of bubblegum comes thru. Good acidity. Long finish with firm tannins. This is fun, but also tasty. A wine that drinks well on its own without being tiring yet will work with meat or fowl dishes. Drink over the next year or two.
