Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with lemons, peach and slight green apple.  Medium to full bodied.  Little or no oak showing on this wine.  On the palate, this is crisp and easy to drink.   Notes of peach and slight lemon zest on the palate. Nice finish.  Refreshing.  It works better with food but is still a nice sipper.  Pair it with grilled sea food such as trout.  drink over the next five years.

This is 100% Chardonnay from Hungary.  Gold with green hues, clear and bright.  The nose has a nice lemon cream with a bit of chalk.  Creamy texture.  Medium body.  On the palate, slight oak showing with lemons and slight vanilla.  Solid acidity.  Good finish.  This is a very nice Chardonnay especially for the price.  It went very nicely with a lavender and goat cheese salad at Callas Café in Budapest.  Drink over the next few years.

This is a sparkling Brut from Argentina.  Pale golden in color with a steady stream of small bubbles.  The nose is more about minerals but there is a bit of lemons.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, again, a nice minerality but lots of lemons and slight pear notes.  Good acidity.  Nice finish.  This drinks well on its own and would work with a wide variety of foods.  Pair with a bowl of buttered popcorn and it makes a great movie night.  Drink over the next couple of years.  Great value!

2013 Kumeu River Chardonnay Maté's Vineyard, New Zealand, Wine Review

Really one of the best Chardonnay's in the world and a great value (although not inexpensive).  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose has lemons and slight peach with just a bit of minerality.  Very tight.  On the palate, this is delicious.  More peach with some lemon tartness and underlying minerality.  Good acidity.  Long finish.  This has a deep complexity to it.  Still has ten to fifteen years left of great drinking.  It drinks great on its own and would be a nice with seafood such as Tuna.

2016 Chartron et Trébuchet Mâcon-Villages, France, Burgundy, Wine Review

Vintage:
2016
Grade:

Unfortunately, this showed way too much oxidation for a wine this young.  While White Burgundy has had issues with premox, this also utilized an artificial closure, so what the cause was is unknown.  It had been bought on release and well stored, so that is not likely the cause.  Golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is dusty with apple juice and slight lemon.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, there is some lemon fruit but also a bitter almond note.  Not Rated.

Grade:

Current Price:
$32.00USD

This is a "second" wine from Mount Eden, one of California's premier wine producers.  Golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose has apples, apple juice, and a slight lemony note.  Medium to full bodied.  Slightly oily texture.  On the palate, there is a sweet tart note with a slight oxidized lemony note.  Moderate acidity.  This is very mature,  not likely to be a pristine bottle, this showed much older than six years.

Golden green in color, clear and bright.  Great nose with lemon/lime and a slight chalk note.  Medium bodied with crisp acidity.  On the palate, this has some depth.  Grapefruit along with a touch of chalkiness.  Nice finish.  This drinks very easily on its own and works well with lighter foods, or seafood.  A nice wine with lobster.  Drink over the next seven to ten years.

Beautiful sparkling wine from the north center of Italy.  It is a blend of 75% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Bianco, and 15% Pinot Nero.  Light golden in color with a steady stream of tiny bubbles.  The nose has red apples, minerals and slight toast.  Full bodied.  On the palate, this has a slight oxidative note along with apples and slight toast.  A nice backbone of acidity.  Long finish.  This drinks great on its own but will work well with a wide variety of food.  Everything from popcorn to fried, spicy chicken.  Long finish.  It will compete with everything in its price category from Champagne.

This wine has aged brilliantly.  Golden in color, slightly deeper, clear and bright.  The nose is great with vanilla, lemon crème, and a slight butterscotch note.  Full bodied.  Deep and complex.  Good balance.  On the palate, the vanilla and lemon are joined with some grapefruits.  Long finish.  Delicious.  Drink over the next five to eight years.

Always one of the best chardonnay's made anywhere!  This vintage is no exception.  Light golden in color with slight green hues.  The nose is classic Rhys:  Vanilla, lemon cream, and slight bakers spices.  Full bodied.  This was drinking well from the beginning.  The palate has lemon cream and vanilla with a touch of spice/oak.  Good acidity.  Long finish.  Delicious.  This drinks great on its own and perfect with a Caprese salad.  In my experience, these drink well for a few years and then shut down a bit before re-emerging at age eight or so.  They drink well for another ten after that.
