2024 Backsberg Chenin Blanc Gravel Road, South Africa, Western Cape, Wine Review
Consumed at the Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli in Kenya. This is a lovely inexpensive South African chenin Blanc. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has peach and slight mango notes. Clean. Moderate acidity. On the palate, peah with slight orange zest. Good finish. This worked well with African vegetarian food and in general would go nicely with lighter dishes as well as on its own. Drink over the next year.
2021 Fingers Crossed Unanswered Prayers Rosé, USA, California, Wine Review
Just a fantastic Rosee. It is a blend of 53% Syrah, 42% Grenache, and 5% Mourvedre. Deep salmon pink in color, clear and bright. The nose has black cherries, strawberries, orange peel and slight almonds. Full bodied. Light tannins. Great energy. Wonderful texture. On the palate, this is delicious. It is also complex. Flavors of raspberries, cherries and slight orange with a bit of spice and slight carob powder. Long finish. This is great on its own and will work with a wide variety of foods. It worked great with grilled Zucchini. Drink over the next three to five years.

2024 Attems Pinot Grigio, Italy, Friuli, Wine Review
This white wine is 100% Pinot Grigio from Northeast Italy. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with pears, minerality and just a touch of white floral notes. Medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, this is refreshing and tasty. Plenty of pear fruit and minerality. Good finish. This is nice on its own and even better with food. It went very nicely with a chilled pasta dish. Drink over the next couple of years.
