Sake made in Arkansas!

June 20th, 2025 By Loren Sonkin
# Rice Wine/Sake, Sake, United States

These were fascinating and well made.  Who knew Sake was being made in Arkansas.  Hot Springs Arkansas to be more specific.  The rice uses is grown close to the winery which gets it water (key in Sake) from the Ouachita Mountains.  The Toji or brewaster is a Certified Sakasho or Master of Sake named Justin Potts.  He is joined by two other credentialed Sake professionals.  And, to top it off, all of the offerings are Kosher, Gluten Free, Sulfite Free and Vegan.  At $25 for a 750ML bottle, they are highly  recommended.

You can find a link to the tasting notes on the four here:  https://www.intowine.com/reviews?region=&varietal=Sake&uid=Loren+Sonkin&score=&grade=All&vintage%5Bvalue%5D%5Byear%5D=&search=Origami&before=&after=&sort_by=created&sort_order=ASC

We would love to hear your thoughts on these especially if you drink Sake more regularly than we do.

58% Polishing ratio.  16%ABV. Light green/gold in color.  The nose has a bit of coconut with pineapple and honeydew.  On the palate, banana with some pineapple.  Clean finish.  This is made in Oregon (it is Vegan Freidnly, Gluten Free and Kosher).
