2018 Sleight of Hand Funkadelic Syrah Funk Vineyard, USA, Washington, Walla Walla, Wine Review
Purple/ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black raspberries, black olives, black pepper and spices. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, flavors of black raspberries, some black cherries, slight black pepper and an interesting tart cherry note. Good finish. This drinks well on its own but probably better with food. This would be great with various curries.

On the palate, there is plenty of fruit. The attack is a bit sweet. Light tannins. Flavors of black cherries and black raspberries. Moderate finish. This is drinking well now and will work with lots of foods. This would make a nice choice with a Burger. Drink over the next five to eight years.

2023 K Vintners Viognier Art Den Hoed Vineyard, USA, Washington, Yakima Valley, Wine Review
Light silvery/gold with some green hues in color, clear and bright. The nose is steely with lemon rind, slight peach and a slight floral note. Medium to full bodied. Lovely oily texture. On the palate, flavors of lemons, oranges and a slight honey/waxy note. Some heat on the finish. This is drinking quite well now. Stylistically, somewhere between a full on California Viognier and a Northern Rhone wine. Drink over the next five years. Nice on its own but better with food. This would be very nice with Moroccan Couscous with meat or fruit.

2022 Rhys Chardonnay Santa Cruz Mountains, USA, California, Wine Review
This is the base Rhys Chard and while not quite at the level of the single vineyard releases, it is also not as expensive (yet very good). Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is great with Lemon creme, slight granny smith apples, and salinity. Full bodied. On the palate, the lemon creme comes thru along with the green apples, and slight vanilla. Good acidity. Nice finish. This is delicious and drinking well. It is great on its own and would work nicely with broiled Crab. Drink over the next seven to ten years.
