This is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot from Bordeaux. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, opaque and bright. The nose is great with some funk along with black cherries, leather, spice, and coffee. Full bodied. Tannins mostly resolved. Juicy crisp acidity. On the palate, flavors of black cherries, cherries and some black raspberries with underlying char. Long finish. This seems to be just about at peak. There is some depth and complexity but after seeing what the wine was, it was a bit disappointing. That said, the wine is excellent and drinking well. Drink over the next five to ten years. It will work well with many foods. Lamb Chops or Lamb Stew would be a good choice.
