Decanted for sediment right before serving. Garnet in color, partially opaque and shimmmering bright. The nose is fresh with cherries, slight dust, leather, slight tar, and dark chocolate. Full bodied. Medium tannins. A nice backbone of acidity. On the palate, this is youthful. Flavors of cherries with lots of underlying minerality and some char. Long finish. Nice on its own but much better with food. It went well with an Eggplant and Tomato Cheese Pizza. At age 25, this is still on the younger side. In retrospect, an hour or two of air would have been warranted but just a quick decant and it was singing after about 30 minutes. Drink over the next ten to fifteen years.
