Maybe the flagship wine of the Scavino Barolos, this did not disappoint. Garnet in color, clear and bright.  The nose has cherries, tar, and slight rose petals.  Classic Barolo.  Full bodied.  Very firm tannins.  Nice acidity.  On the palate, this is tight but comes across as very fresh with lots of energy.  Flavors of black cherries, thyme, and cherries.  A bit of char comes out with air.  Long finish.  This needs time or plenty of air.  Hold for ten and drink for twenty after that. It does drink well on its own but it is made for the dinner table.  It would be great with Fettuccini Alfredo.
