Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is very tight but shows slight black cherries, spice and slight char. Full bodied. Very nice plushh texture. Firm tannins. On the palate, this is also very tight. Nothing off but this is showing quite young. Flavors of black cherries. Moderate finish. It seems like there is something going on but this needs time or air. After about an hour and a half in the glass, it was just starting to open up. Hold for another five to ten years. If opening soon, give it a few hours in a decanter. It seems like it should be good for another eight to fifteen years once it finall;y opens.
