One of the more enjoyable 2009's (a great vintage) that I have tried. Purple in color with ruby hues, mostly opaque and bright. The nose had some funk initially but not much else. WIth air, it still shows funk, but also cassis, blueberries, plums along with some spice and char. Full bodied. Juicy acidity. Firm tannins. On the palate, flavors of cassis, blueberries and plums with some char. Long finish but the tannins become drying. Complex and Deep. This is drinking well now and should easily go another ten years. Nice on its own, this will work nicely with many foods. Roasted Duck Breast would make a fine match.
