Situated on the prime growing area of the Mt. Veeder hillsides, Brandlin has long produced Cabernet Sauvignon driven wines. Their cuvée deviates from a Cab-centric approach preferring a traditional Bordeaux blend approach. Comprised of equal parts Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, there is also 23% Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Merlot in this cuvée. Aged for almost two years in smaller French oak barrels (33% of these were new barrels) provides for a rich and sumptuous wine. This smooth drinking blend offers cassis, blackberry and blueberry notes, light flavors of black raspberry sandalwood, dusty cocoa powder, sweet vanilla and powdered green tea leaf. It quite nicely divides its attention between rich dark fruit, and its companion oak notes. The art of the blend is always about a seamless integration of flavors, elements and experiences, and here Brandlin accomplishes it very nicely. 450 cases. ORIGIN: Mt. Veeder, Napa Valley.
