Situated on the prime growing area of the Mt. Veeder hillsides, Brandlin has long produced Cabernet Sauvignon based wines. This 2021 is a seamlessly structured wine giving off both bright fruit, and also subdued notes with a substantial tannic structure. It offers old-school Napa Cabernet finesse with a bright freshness making it drinkable upon opening. There are the noticeable red and dark fruits like red raspberry, blueberry, huckleberry and blackberry, complimented by light herbal notes, vanilla, plum and soft wood char. The fruit notes are fairly dense, which comes out as a hefty wine with layered complexity, giving off an almost kind of thickness to the viscosity. This is enjoyable to drink for all the reasons listed above, but most of all, it is a well-built wine. Comprised of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, there are small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine was aged just 22 months in French oak barrels, half of which were new barrels. 1,325 cases. ORIGIN: Mount Veeder, Napa Valley. ALCOHOL: 14.5%
