Undoubtedly you don’t recall the exceptionally cold harvest of 2011 in Oregon. But that year with the temperatures dipping, Left Coast was worried about their ability to get their Pinot Noir ripe enough so they made a decision to pick some fruit to hedge their bets and made what would become one of their signature wines – a white Pinot Noir. Made from entirely Pinot, they limited the skin contact so that the juice turned slightly pink and they left it in stainless steel. The result is a delicate wine that provides succulent strawberry notes, light lemon and lime essence, a bit of lychee, white pear and a moderate acidity. Ultimately this is a very enjoyable drinking experience and is the type of wine, intended or not, that is an ideal food companion because it supports what’s around it, it doesn’t need to be the star on the table. The versatility of this - a summer sipper, appetizer wine or a go-to dinner wine, it is well worth checking out. ORIGIN: Willamette Valley, Oregon. ALCOHOL: 13.2%.
