This is a well-made everyday Merlot at a price point that is acceptable in these economic times. It offers subtle notes of blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, Ranier cherry and soft spices. Comprised of all Merlot with the exception of 9% Cabernet, the fruit for this wine comes from three specific growing regions within Napa Valley: Oak Knoll, St. Helena and Atlas Peak. This has moderate tannins and moderate acidity, as most solidly built Merlots do, making it an easy drinker. Using an aging program of just 14 months in 30% new French oak, winemaker Abigail Estrada has crafted an approachable, accessible and enjoyable Merlot.
