This is a 50/50 blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera.  Garnet in color, clear and bright.  The nose has black cherries, black raspberries and spice (nutmeg?).  Medium bodied.  Medium/firm tannins.  Good balance.  On the palate cherries and black cherries with some nutmeg.  Good finish.   This is tasty and drinking well now.  It may improve a bit with maturity but should drink well for seven to ten more years.  Nice on its own but will be even better with food.  This would be great with Eggplant Parmesan.

This is 100% Barbera grapes from the La Crena vineyard in Piemonte, Italy.  Purple in color with ruby swirls.  Darker at the core.  Clear and bright.  The nose is earthy with cherries, and black raspberries.  Light to medium tannins.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this has a nice depth and complexity.  Flavors of black cherries and black raspberries.  Long finish.  This wine desperately  begs for food to work with the acidity and the tannins.  it will work nicely with grilled Lamb Chops or Pasta with a Bolognese sauce.  Drink over the next five to eight years.
