2024 Domenico Clerico Langhe Nebbiolo Capisme-e, Italy, Piedmont, Wine Review

Capisme-e means understand me in the local dialect.  It is 100% Nebbiolo aged in steel and amphorae.  Very pale ruby in color, clear and bright.  The nose has cranberries, rhubarb and slight wild herb note.  Medium bodied.  Medium acidity that is tingly on the tongue.  Medium tannins.  On the palate, the rhubarb and cranberries come out again.  Blind, I might have guessed Pinot Nero.  Long finish.  This is a lighter styled Nebbiolo that drinks fine on its own but will be better with food.  It would be nice with Pasta in a Tomato Sauce as it could easily work with the acidity without overpowering it.  Drink over the next five years.
