My favorite of all of the wines tasted on a recent visit to the winery. Vietti has been making a wine from this designation only since 2018. Light ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose has cherries, sage, chalk, celery, and with air, blueberries (?). Firm tannins. Great acidity. Medium to full bodied. On the palate, this is complex and layered, if tight. Flavors of Cherries, black cherries, minerals and slight char. Long finish. This is a contemplative wine but really needs food. Comfort food would be great such as a plate of pasta in a cream sauce. Hold for five to eight years and drink for fifteen to twenty after that.
