There is a very compelling delicateness to this Chardonnay. It is neither too acidic, nor too much of a butter bomb, but instead walks a fine line. There are muted flavors of lemon-lime, guava, honeysuckle, apricot, Asian pear and ever so light Crenshaw melon. With a partial malacic fermentation, and only 10 months of barrel aging, this Chardonnay aims for, and succeeds, a hard target to hit - that gorgeous balance of fruit, wood, acidity, and texture. “Balance” is a word wine writers toss around feverishly, but the true objective of every wine is to find a balance since every wine has multiple influences. Whereas many wines fail that, Cuvaison has consistently proved it understands the delicate balance of a wine. With all that said, there is one thing this wine needs. And that is food. This is a wine designed to be part of a meal, and that is its great success. This is a Chardonnay that over-delivers for it's price and quality.
