Impressive showing for this wine. Just about, maybe not quite, at maturity at age 10. Garnet in color with dark purple swirls, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is big and also deep. Aromas of cherries, chocolate, with a slightly candied note. Nice texture. Medium to firm tannins. Nice balance. On the palate, this is tasty and there is some complexity. Flavors of cherries, pomegranate, slight char and a hint of earthiness. Long finish. This is drinking well now and should have another five to eight years left. I did not see the cork but online it said it has a synthetic cork, so it might not age as well as a real cork (time will tell). It drinks well on its own and would go nicely with grilled Salmon.
