Tasted at the winery. This is their basic Barbaresco. Deep ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is bright with cherries, black raspberries, along with a slight dust and a hint of fennel. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Nice acidity. On the palate, black cherries, black raspberries with a very slight fennel on the finish. This is drinking well if young and will improve with cellaring. Hold for another five years and then drink for eight to twelve after that. It is lovely on its own but will be better with food. This would be great with a White Bean, Roasted Fennel and Mushroom dish or soup.
