Tasted at the winery. Marcorino is the newest vineyard in the Bruno Rocca lineup. This vineyard is located right below the medieval town of Neive. Ruby in color with slight orange hues, clear and bright. The nose is great with cherries, slight floral notes and an herbal quality (sage?). full bodied. Medium to firm tannins. Good acidity. On the palate, this is young but deep and complex. It unwinds in the glass to show cherries, sour cherries and slight minerality/chalk. Long finish. This is young and needs about five to eight years of cellaring. Afterwords, it should drink well for ten to fifteen more years. Nice on its own, it will be better with food. Slow cooked Venison would be a nice match as would Tofu and Roasted Vegetables and Mushrooms.
