Earlier this month we visited the Bruno Rocca winery in Barbaresco. We were lucky enough to be hosted by Marta who was informative and enjoyable for our group who had varying degrees of wine nerdiness. First stop was their back patio. Luckily it was a beautiful clear morning and we had stunning views of the Italian and French Alps in the distance. In an area with so many beautiful vistas and rolling hills, this may have been the most spectacular that we visited. From there, we were toured the beautiful winery which included many older bottles before sitting down to taste some of the current releases.

The wines were all spectacular and were really showing well. Luckily, Marta has bottles that had been opened as, with the exception of the rose these wines (especially from 2021) are going to take some time. Also, the wines, comparatively speaking, are fairly priced and obtainable. These are complex and delicious wines and it is worth hunting a bit to see if older bottles can be found.
If planning on making a trip to the Piemonte, Bruno Rocca is highly recommended for the views alone. Add in the wonderful tour and the quality of the wines and it should be near the top of your list.
