One of the old guard from Napa. This is their basic Zin which is actually a blend of 83% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Sirah, 3% Alicante, and 4% mixed reds. This is a fine value. Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose has bramble with a peppery note. Medium bodied. Light tannins. On the palate, cherries and raspberries. Easy finish. This is drinkable without requiring contemplation. Drink over the next couple of years. A nice wine with foods off grill.

This is a blend of 87% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Sirah, 2% Carignane, 1% Alicante Bouschet from vines averaging 75 years old. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is nice with black cherries, brambles, gravel and spice. Medium to full bodied. Light tannins. On the palate, this is a middle of the road Zin. Not a monster, but not a claret either. It has depth and some complexity. Flavors of black cherries, slight cherries, spice and slight bramble. Long finish. This is great on its own and would be great with a burger off the grill. Drink over the next five to seven years.

This is always one of the really good values in Zinfandel. It is consistently a solid wine in every vintage and this is no exception. A blend of 87% Zinfandel, 9% Petite Sirah, 2% Carignane, 1% Syrah and 1% mixed reds. Purple in color. The nose has black cherries, sandalwood and slight bramble. On the palate, this is medium bodied. Cherries and black cherries. Slight tannins. Easy drinking. This will work great with burgers or pizza. It should be drunk in the next three to five years.
