Another winner in the Vajra lineup. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose has black currants, black cherries, white pepper, dust, cedar and wild thyme. Really complex and enticing. Medium to full bodied. Medium tannins that are soft but present. Great acidity. On the palate, this is obviously young but showing lots of complexity and depth. Flavors of black currants, black cherries, slight earthy tobacco notes and spices. Long finish. While this is delicious now, more ageing will undoubtedly pay off. Hold for five to seven years and drink for ten to twenty after that. It will be better with food. A Lamb stew would work but so will Roasted Mushrooms over Mashed Potatoes.
