Purple in color. This is a bold young Pinot Noir. Dark cherry fruit on the nose, some spice. On the palate, the dark cherry fruit carries thru along with some coffee (presumably oak). This is lush and deep. It will be interesting to see where it goes and how it matures. Right now, I wonder if the fruit outlasts the oak. At the same time, it is delicious right now.
This is very young and bold. Fruit forward and delicious. Purple in color. The nose has black cherries, coffee, and spice. On the palate, this is deep but hard to see any complexity at this point. Jammy black cherry fruit. Flat out tasty and drinking fine right now. It seems like ten years in a cellar would do just fine, but I have no experience with this winery to know for sure. If I had a few bottle I would certainly hold one back. It is quite enjoyable now though.
Another in a line of Excellent Pinot Noirs from this producer. Stylistically, these tend to be big for Oregon, but would be on the smaller size for California (if that make sense). Garnet in color with some purple hues, mostly clear and bright. The nose has cherries, sour cherries, hay and slight earthiness. Light tannins. Great balance. On the palate, lots of sour cherries with some cherries with underlying char and a hint of earthiness. Long finish. This is, of course, very young but already drinking well. Deeper ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, spices and char. Medium to full bodied. Silky texture. Firm tannins. On the palate, black cherries with some forest floor and char. Long finish. This is delicious and deep and should improve with some short term cellaring. It is on the bigger side (for Oregon) but it has the stuffing to develop. Nice on its own, this will work wellw ith flavorful food. A good choice with duck. Great value.
