This winery has a bit of a shaded history but all of the wines I personally bought and opened have shown very well and this one is no exception.  At a recent testing it was the group's WOTN and showed everything one would hope for.  Pale ruby in color, clear and bright.  The nose is very nice with cherries, char, slight spice and slight rhubarb.  With air, a bit of a cough drop note emerged.  Medium bodied.  Great balance.  On the palate, this has some depth and complexity but is still a bit tight.  It opens nicely in the glass with flavors of cherries, cranberries, rhubarb and char.  Smooth finish.  This is drinking well now but not yet at peak based on this bottle.  It should easily go another ten to fifteen years.  Nice on its own but better with food, it would work well with Beef Bourguignon.
