So many new world wines are sold as being "Burgundian", but, this is a Burgundy wine that seems more "Californian".  Purple in color with some ruby hues, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has black cherries, cherries, spice, earthiness and slight "buttered popcorn".  Full bodied.  Light tannins.  Good balance.  On the palate, this is tasty.  Lots of black cherries and cherries with underlying earthiness.  Good finish.  While not profound, this is drinking well and has some depth and gives plenty of pleasure.  It is nice on its own and will work well with many foods.  It would go well with Roasted Chicken.
