This was quite open and drinking very well at age 19. Garnet in color with some purple swirls, opaque and bright. The nose is great with black cherries, slight cherries, slight vanilla and dill, spices and a hint of earthiness. Full bodied. Medium tannins. Nicely balanced. On the palate, this is delicious. Complex but doesn't hit that final gear of greatness. That said, it is outstanding. Flavors of cherries, black cherries, plums, slight vanilla and spice in layers that unwind in the glass. Long finish. This is great on its own and would work with many foods. A hearty stew (maybe with some Chorizo) would be a great accompaniment. Drink over the next ten to twenty years.
