Earlier this month I visited the Zenato winery near Lake Garda in Italy. They make excellent Ripassos and Amarones but they also make some very interesting white wines from the Trebbiano di Lugano grape. Our host and guide, Sonia, met us at their Santa Cristina estate and vineyard and explained quite a bit about the history of the winery and its people. After a tour of the facilities we sat down and tried many of their wines. Tasting notes can be found here: https://www.intowine.com/reviews?region=&varietal=&uid=Loren+Sonkin&score=&grade=All&vintage%5Bvalue%5D%5Byear%5D=&search=zenato&before=2025-05-25&after=2025-05-15&sort_by=created&sort_order=ASC
The facility was beautiful. Despite being a larger winery, they do a great job of paying individual attention to all of the wines. Their portfolio goes from inexpensive to expensive (although not crazy pricing) but all that we tasted delivered above the price in terms of quality. A nearby sales room had a wide selection of their wines for sale.
If you are ver in the Lake Garda area (southwest side), a visit here is well worth the time spent. And, quite a few of their wines should be easily tracked down once back home.
