NV Canned Oregon White Bubbles, USA, Oregon, Wine Review

This is a canned bottle of sparkling wine. It seems to be some sort of Champagne blend that sells for $7 a 375ml can. It's easy to make fun of this wine, but I found it fine. It would probably be a bigger hit with millennial's and Gen-Z'ers than a bunch of crabby old men. Light golden in color. Not much of a nose to it. Slight minerality. On the palate, this is slightly sweet, slightly tart. Citrus. Some minerality. Easy to drink. Quick finish. There is a place for canned sparkling wines as they are easier to transport (and safer) and open.

This is really a nice wine. This retails for $18 and that is a great value. Light golden in color with a swirl of green hues, clear and bright. The nose is nice with red apples, slight herbal note and nice minerality. Light to medium bodied but with a slight viscosity in the glass. On the palate, this is easy and refreshing. Flavors of apples with underlying minerality. Tasty. Very nice on its own, this will make great summer sipping on the deck with light foods. Drink over the next few years.

This is a lovely sparkling wine from Oregon. It is 100% Chardonnay. Light golden in color, clear and bright. It has a full mousse with a thick head of tiny bubbles. The nose is persistent with lemons and some lanolin notes. With a bit of air, some apple notes emerge. Good acidity. Medium to full bodied. On the palate, fresh lemons and slight chalky notes. A long, slightly tart finish. Overall, this is an excellent sparkling wine that should drink well for another decade. It is very food friendly and will work with a wide variety of foods. One of the old guards of Oregon, this winery had gotten away from Chardonnay for a time, but in the last decade they revived it. This is 100% Chardonnay. Light golden in color, slight green hues, clear and bright. The nose is classic with lemon peel, nutmeg, and slight dust. Full bodied. Creamy texture (stirring of the lees?). Light tannins. This is their top Chardonnay. Very impressive. Light golden in color with a touch of green and a slight touch of copper. Clear and bright. The nose has baked apples, wild herbs, slight vanilla and a touch of grapefruit. Lovely, full bodied, texture. Good balance. Crisp. On the palate, the baked apples and vanilla come thru along with a touch of lemon curd. This is a bigger rounder Chardonnay at least in this vintage. This is the inaugural vintage for this wine. A blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The dosage (added sugar) was 4g/l which is very low. Light silvery golden in color with a fine line of tiny bubbles. The nose is expressive. Very clean with pears, slight lanolin, lemon curd and yeast with underlying slight nuttiness and a hint of smoke. On the palate, this has a nice crispness. Light strawberries with more profound lemon cream along with a slight nuttiness. There is some orange rind on the finish. Clean and deep, it is tight in the glass.
