Outside of California, only Washington State produces Cabernet Sauvignon with exceptional potential. And within Washington it is the Columbia Valley AVA that commands the attention. This 2023 offers light and bright fruit, blackberry and blueberry, loganberry, plum and huckleberry. Given that this fruit comes from the Columbia Valley, there is an earthiness to it that Washington state wines typically have as well as a bit more acidity than their California counterparts. Comprised of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, there is also 16% Merlot, with smaller percentages of Malbec and Syrah. The wine was aged minimally in both oak and stainless steel to retain the fruit and limit the oak exposure. For an entry into Washington Cabernet, Greenwing over delivers at an affordable price.
