This is a blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Pugnitello/Colorino. It is everything I love about Chianti Classico's. The wine is delicious, has some depth and is not expensive. Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has cherries, slight dark cherries, dust, earthiness, and slight forest floor. Medium bodied. Nice acidity. Medium tannins. On the palate, this drinks easy with some depth. Flavors of cherries, black cherries, chaar and slight earthiness. Good finish. This is nice on its own but better with food. A great choice with pizza or Spaghetti & Meatballs, but will go well with Roasted Acorn Squash as well. Drink over the next five to eight years.
