Great wine from a vineyard that seems not to get the publicity of other vineyards in the Heritage series. A blend of Zinfandel, Carignan, Alicante Bouschet, Grand Noir and Valdiguié. The Carignan is 35%. Purple in color with a ruby rim, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is complex and deep with black cherries, cherries, slight bramble, spice and blueberries. Full bodied. Light to medium tannins. Great texture. On the palate, this is delicious. Flavors of black cherries, black raspberries and slight blueberries with some char. Good finish. This is so easy to drink but does not lack structure or substance. Great on its own, this will work well with big foods such as BBQ Ribs or Chicken or Veggies. Drink over the next ten years.
